God’s Eternal Purpose

In God’s eternal purpose…

Lucifer and 1/3 of the angels rebelled, but God used this rebellion to create worshippers who will serve Him in love and gratitude. He made man. Man was created as a replacement for the fallen horde. He made this being to relate more closely with Him than any other creature; he was made to be one with the Creator. In God’s eternal purpose He knew that mankind would fall and join this rebellion. When the fall happened He had a plan in order to fulfill His eternal purposes, the Lamb was slain before the foundation of the world. God in His wisdom so created the laws of the earth that He divinely and creatively made the most powerful display of love to be Calvary. He then gave man this choice whether or not they would submit to Him and humble themselves into the way of salvation. God showed His loving affection while man was rebelling against Him, He died for them. Seeing the gulf that had been bridged through Jesus, now this created being serves God in loving gratitude, and not because it is required of him but because he is in love with his Savior… his Creator. God’s eternal purpose is fulfilled through the creation of a being that will forever worship Him in love. In creating man, God made him in His image, with His emotions… a lover. When man is filled with this love he will not be turned, just like God in His passion pursued man to the depths of hell. God took what was meant for evil and used it for His good, through a rebellion He gained lovers; a bride that He can be one with and indwell. God didn’t make the way of salvation difficult but He made it a way of humility and any that would come to Him must take up their cross and follow Him. 1 Corinthians 13 clearly explains, in plainest words, that love is not about me but about you. Salvation is a way of love. Following Christ is a way of love. Denying yourself is a way of love. Taking up your cross is a way of love. You take up a cross because it is hard for you and proves your affection for your lover, (The wisdom of God). The cross is the greatest demonstration of love, denying yourself. We love Him because He first loved us. Jesus being the paradigm, not asking us to do anything He did not already do. God demonstrated the greatest love through the life and death of the Son.

Christ gave us everything; His heart, His life, His death… He is mine, the question is will I be His. Will I embrace my cross, the way of proving my love.
God’s eternal purpose is all about love.

1 Life 1 Love

Love it or Hate it

John 12:25, “He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.”

Matthew 6:21 says, “Where your treasure is there will your heart be also.” We are told by Paul to set our affections (love) on things above. Where ever your heart is found, that’s where your treasure will be found. A person who loves this world has set their affections on things below and their heart is given to this life. Jesus said that these people will lose their “life.” Your life is not the breath in your body, it is what you give yourself to. These that lost their life lost everything that they poured their time and energy into. You could say that they lived “the American Dream” but anyone with vision sees that this dream is really a nightmare.  These words should cut you, “He that loveth his life shall lose it.” “Whoever is a friend of the world is an enemy with God,” – James 4:4.

To HATE this life sounds like a strong phrase, but Jesus didn’t mean anything different. Jesus didn’t speak casually, everything He said the Father told Him to say. In order to hate this life you have to gain the knowledge of God and truly love Him. When you love Him you begin to love what He loves and hate what He hates. We are living in a redemptive age, full of sin and rebellion against God. GOD HATES SIN! With an eternal perspective you can see the bliss when it was Adam and Eve in the garden with God, and you can see the bliss in the ages to come. According to this perspective you live with righteous indignation in this present age, hating this life because it is CONTRARY TO YOUR GOD! It is everything that is against the one you LOVE! “Whoever is a friend of the world is an enemy with God.” To be a lover of God is to hate this life, learn to love Him.

With eyes to see what is to come, you violently go against the current and set your affections on things above. If you do this you will be storing up for yourself treasure in heaven that you will keep for eternity.

Think About It – Look at your life; the music you listen to, what you watch on t.v., the jokes you laugh at, the words that come out of your mouth. Then by those things you will know whether you are TRULY a lover, or His enemy. James 4:4.
